NSCL maintains high stability rubidium frequency standards as the reference measurement standard of frequency for Syria and for the dissemination of time and frequency units. The standards are traceable to the international system of units (SI) through an unbroken chain of calibrations using Global Positioning System (GPS).

NSCL can provide calibrations for other time and frequency measuring equipment, such as Electronic voltmeters, Spectrum analyzers, Modulation analyzers, Variable attenuators, Amplifiers, and Medical equipment (time / frequency). NSCL has recently acquired and installed a time dissemination system up to Network Time Protocol (NTP) through the server (Time.nscl.sy), making it possible to synchronize all computers on Local Area Networks (LANs), within a millisecond accuracy, and up to a few tens of milliseconds on Wide Area Networks (WANs) relative to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). NSCL can also provide the following services:
- Measuring of electric and magnetic fields strength in the ranges: Frequency: 1 Hz to 20 MHz Electric Field: 0.1 V/m to 20 kV/m Magnetic Field: 1 pT to 200 mT
- Measuring of electromagnetic fields strength in the ranges: Frequency: 1 MHz to 7 GHz Level: (-90 to 30) dBm Power Flux density: 10 fW/m² to 100 W/m²
